Build your Nanny Bag!
Kids come with lots of stuff. And then even more stuff. One day the dinosaurWhen I was a nanny, I had a few staples that remained in my book bag named Lucy. (Yes, my book bag was in the form of a cow and was named Lucy by one of the wonderful little girls I cared for.) Lucy contained:
- A puzzle of about 45 pieces in a sandwich bag. (Those little cardboard boxes don’t hold up very well in a book bag)
- Crayons, colored pencils, a coloring book, and a blank pad
- Pencils, erasers, a handwriting book, and a math practice book (Obviously, age appropriate activities should be evaluated here)
- A jump rope
- A beach ball I could blow up easily
- Chalk
- A change of clothes for every child I was caring for
- Fruit snacks, pretzels, granola bars, and goldfish (always a crowd favorite)
